Join us for an epic weekend of creativity, collaboration, and game-making at the Make It Game Jam on campus at Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Design Innovation.
Whether you’re into art, coding, storytelling, or just love playing games, this is your chance to team up with other creative students and make something amazing. This one is just for secondary school students (Years 11–13) and no experience is needed—just bring your ideas and enthusiasm!
The Game Jam runs 3–5 October, 2025 at our Te Aro Campus in Wellington. You’ll work in a team, guided by university lecturers and student mentors. There’s input from game industry pros, and a panel talk with some of the amazing gaming talents around campus. We’ll provide lunches both days, snacks, all computers and software, and all the support you need to create your own game. There are also prizes!
Spots in Game Jam are free of charge, but they are limited, so apply now to be part of this unforgettable experience. Hope you can Make It!
Sign-ups are open until September 27, and notification of acceptance will be sent out on September 28.
Participants will need to be able to commit to the following schedule:
Friday 3 October, 5–7 pm
Saturday 4 October, 9 am–5 pm (expert talk at 4 pm)
Sunday 5 October, 9 am–5 pm
